Who We Are
RouteCard is a route-planning service operated by Crann Moroney, trading as BulkBrains. In this statement, “RouteCard”, “BulkBrains”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Crann Moroney trading as BulkBrains.
Purpose of RouteCard
RouteCard is intended as a planning and navigation aid for individuals and teams engaged in outdoor activities and navigation, including hillwalking, hiking, expeditions and similar activities.
RouteCard is not intended to be relied upon as the sole means of navigation and is not a substitute for appropriate training, experience, judgement, local knowledge, official safety information, or suitable navigation and safety equipment. RouteCard should not be relied upon as an emergency or life-safety system.
Accuracy of Information
While we aim to provide accurate and useful information, RouteCard uses calculations, user-supplied information and data obtained from third-party sources. Information may therefore be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, unavailable or affected by software errors, rounding, source-data limitations, coordinate transformations or incorrect user input.
We do not warrant or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, availability or timeliness of:
- Maps, geographic data, coordinates or grid references;
- Terrain, elevation or magnetic declination data and calculations;
- Weather forecasts, visibility estimates or other meteorological information;
- Sunrise, sunset or other time-related information;
- Route durations, time estimates, bearings or distance calculations;
- Information supplied by third-party data providers or external services.
Weather and environmental conditions can change rapidly, particularly in mountainous, remote or exposed areas. Weather information provided through RouteCard should be considered an aid only. Users should consult appropriate official or specialist forecasts and assess actual conditions at the location.
Your Responsibility
By using RouteCard, you acknowledge that:
- You remain responsible for making appropriate route, navigation and safety decisions based on the actual conditions you encounter;
- Conditions in the field may differ substantially from the information displayed by RouteCard;
- You are responsible for ensuring that your chosen route is appropriate for your ability, experience, equipment and the prevailing conditions;
- RouteCard does not substitute for good judgement, proper preparation, appropriate training or suitable navigation and safety equipment;
- You should carry appropriate backup navigation equipment, such as a paper map and compass, where appropriate;
- You should independently verify safety-critical information, particularly when travelling in remote, mountainous, hazardous or unfamiliar areas.
Third-Party Data and Services
RouteCard may rely upon mapping, elevation, weather, geographic, magnetic and other information supplied by third-party providers. We do not control all such data or services and cannot guarantee that they will always be accurate, complete, current or available.
Third-party services may be changed, interrupted or withdrawn without notice and may be subject to their own terms and conditions.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Irish and European Union law, we shall not be liable for losses or damage arising from reliance upon inaccurate, incomplete, delayed or unavailable information provided through RouteCard, or from the use of RouteCard as a substitute for appropriate navigation, preparation, judgement or safety precautions.
You use RouteCard at your own risk and remain responsible for assessing the suitability and safety of any route or activity before and during its undertaking.
Nothing in this statement excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and nothing in this statement affects any statutory rights you may have under applicable law.
